Random thoughts on a Sunday . . .
FIGS--our fig tree has a lot of ripe figs. It was so cool this evening after the rains that I stood out in the yard and picked quite a few. So right now Trey :-) is making Chicken with Fig and Cranberry Compote dinner. The house (well ok, the kitchen) smells like autumn, though, because it really is an autumn recipe with dried figs to be used.
I messed up but made everyone laugh at church this morning; Trey and I were the Communion helpers. Pastor Pat broke the bread for me and I just ate it. Then when it was time to dip in the cup I had nothing. Pastor Pat made it funny, broke more body of Christ for me and we all had a good laugh out of it. Trey said the funniest thing was my expression when I realized what I'd done. I guess sometimes you need it more than others, huh?
We got Danielle a sandbox and a scooter for her birthday. She is thrilled with both but the sandbox wins out. She reminds me so much of my little brother--he would play ALL DAY in the sandbox. Photos to follow.
I cleaned out one cardboard box (one of those big diaper boxes) that was filled with paperwork today. I kept very little to file or scrapbook and shred the rest. It filled two kitchen trashbags. I then filled the empty box with clothes for charity and put it in the trunk of my car.
I wish I didn't have to work tomorrow. Jealous that Trey and Danielle get to stay home.
YUMMMM . . . . dinner's ready. Gotta go. Happy almost Independence Day.
