first blog post?

Well, last year we tried to join the century by purchasing cell phones. But we promptly lost them both after about 6 months. So I guess this time we'll try this blogging thing. Will anyone read it? I enjoy my friend, Mandi's, but I don't know if we'll have time or interest. Might as well see . . .

This weekend has come and gone. Friday night was a meeting with Trey's friends in memory of his friend Mike, who we lost to cancer last year. It was nice to get together and talk and toast with a beer or two.

Saturday I went to the Austin District meeting for United Methodist Women. It was very interesting and I learned a lot about the Treasurer duties. The meeting was held in San Marcos, TX, home of my alma matter, Southwest Texas State. (It will never be Texas State to me.) What I discovered during the day was how lost I had been during that time period in my life. While I had dropped most of the party life style (yes, at the "party school of TX") and basically lead a "good" life, I was completely lost. I believe my life was stuck until I truly accepted God. I still have my days, believe me, but there is a purpose to my life now. I'm not sure what it is, but I don't feel lost or completely hopeless anymore.

Trey & D met his friend, Matt, who was in town from Colorado for lunch and I met up with them there. Afterwards D & I went to Zilker Park and played. The wind had come in so it was a little chilly.

Came home, took a nap and had an easy evening at home.

Had Sunday school and church this morning, lunch, nap (good solid nap with cold, rainy day outside :-) ) then D & I had Kids Klub (Church youth group) and Alpha Class (Beginning Christian class) tonight. Trey stayed home and worked on homework. He is doing so well at school. We expect he'll graduate in December.

Back to work in the morning.

So this is the first blog. Not too exciting but our life. Seems laid back but we're always so busy. Don't know where the time goes . . .
